What’s the latest on a rep’s deals?

Signal is in beta and available to selected customers only. If you would like to use Signal, contact the Cooby Sales Team. AI can make mistakes, so check the sources before you act on an answer.

Before a one-on-one, a sales manager can ask Signal for a rep's recent deal updates instead of reconstructing every thread. Start with “What's the latest on Alex's deals?” and add a period so the answer focuses on recent activity.

The result is a conversation-based briefing to discuss with the rep. Read it as evidence of what was said, with clear distinctions between customer commitments, the team's promises, and suggested next steps.

What to ask Signal

In Signal, start a new analysis and ask:

  1. “What's the latest on Alex's deals over the last 14 days? Summarize progress, blockers, next steps, and sources for our one-on-one.”
  2. “Use the last 7 days instead and keep the same rep.”
  3. “Separate confirmed customer commitments from suggested next steps. Do not infer that a deal has closed.”
  4. “For Northstar Studio, what did the customer agree to, and what is still unresolved?”
  5. “Compare Alex's updates this week with the previous week. What changed?”

Alex and Northstar Studio are fictional examples. Replace them with the member and customer you need to review. If the answer comes back in another language, ask for the briefing in English.

What Signal gives you

The chat can group updates by customer, explain blockers, suggest next steps, and identify conversations to review.

The Analysis canvas may show a Topic cohort for deal-related conversations. This describes the chats identified for that topic. It is not necessarily a pipeline chart or a structured list of CRM deal records.

Coverage explains the synced messages retrieved within the selected period and scope. Check Details for the owner and dates. Complete retrieval of matching chats does not establish that every commercial opportunity was identified.

Matches, when shown, provide the supporting conversation excerpts. A cohort can distinguish confirmed matches from chats with only uncertain findings. A confirmed topic match means the chat is relevant to the topic; it does not confirm that the opportunity is closed.

Separate facts from interpretations

Consider this fictional example:

Question for the one-on-one

“I'll sign if the agreement includes a cancellation clause.”

Conditional willingness to sign.

Has the clause been agreed and the agreement signed?

“I'll check that feature with our team.”

The rep has promised to investigate.

Who owns the feasibility check, and when will we respond?

“I've sent the payment receipt.”

The customer reports sending proof of payment.

Has payment been verified through the appropriate process?

“Looks good.”

Meaning depends on the surrounding messages.

What exactly did the customer approve?

An enthusiastic message, a sent quote, and a signed agreement are different milestones. Ask for the source rather than turning ambiguous language into a deal stage.

Use the briefing in your meeting

Step 1: Review the source conversations

Open the relevant supporting conversation where available. Check who said each statement, when they said it, and whether later messages change the interpretation.

Step 2: Identify the remaining decision

For each customer, note the latest confirmed progress, unresolved blocker, and next question. Keep Signal's suggested action separate from anything the customer explicitly requested.

Step 3: Agree on a concrete next step with the rep

Use the one-on-one to decide the owner, timing, and action. Confirm any CRM updates through your usual workflow. The summary alone does not prove that a CRM record has changed.

Limits and useful tips

Signal can analyze conversations from the last 90 days. If a deal has a long history, expand the question within that range and verify older commitments separately.

A WhatsApp discussion may omit an email, call, signed contract, or CRM update. Missing evidence in the analysis does not prove an event never occurred. Media contents are not automatically transcribed.

Give the rep's name and a clear period. AI can misattribute statements or infer too much from short replies. Check source messages before treating a commitment as confirmed or sharing a conclusion with the team.
