What Can a Sales Rep Ask an AI Assistant Connected to WhatsApp?

Once you connect an AI assistant like Claude or ChatGPT to your Cooby workspace, you can ask questions in plain language and get answers straight from your own WhatsApp conversations and CRM links. You stop tabbing between WhatsApp, your CRM, and your notes to work out where a deal stands. You ask one question and get the answer from your actual messages.
The connection is read-only. Your AI can read your WhatsApp chats and messages, your contacts, and their CRM links, but it can never send messages, log CRM activity, or change or delete anything. You connect it yourself with your Cooby login, with no API keys and no setup by your admin.

How does this help a sales rep day to day?

The core value is that you never leave one window to check another. Instead of scrolling WhatsApp, opening the CRM, and rereading a long thread, you ask your AI assistant and the answer comes from the source. That means less time reconstructing context and more time actually following up.
Here are the questions reps ask most, and what each one does.

You ask

What happens

"Who should I follow up with today?"

Lists your chats where the last message is from the customer (awaiting your reply), newest first.

"Summarize my conversation with Acme from last week."

Finds the contact, pulls the recent messages, and summarizes them.

"What did Carla say about pricing?"

Reads the chat with Carla and answers from the actual messages.

"Which of my chats went quiet in the last 3 days?"

Combines chat activity timestamps with the unreplied flag to surface stalled threads.

Why ask the AI instead of scrolling WhatsApp yourself?

The value is that the answer comes from the actual thread, not your memory. When you ask "what did Carla say about pricing," the assistant reads the real messages and answers from them, so you avoid misremembering a commitment or promising the wrong number on a call. And "who should I follow up with today" is computed from real replied and unreplied status, not a mental list you keep patching together.

Can I see the conversation, not just a summary?

Yes. Ask "Show my conversation with Acme" and, if your AI client supports MCP Apps (Claude and ChatGPT do), the messages render as a familiar WhatsApp-style thread. Your messages sit on the right, the customer's on the left, with day separators and an unreplied badge when the last word was theirs. It is easier to skim than a plain transcript before you jump into the actual chat. If your client does not support MCP Apps, nothing breaks. You get the same information as clean text instead, and the view appears automatically when the client can render it.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Can the AI send messages or change my data?

No. The connection is read-only. Your AI assistant can read your chats and messages, your contacts, and their CRM links, but it can never send messages, log CRM activity, or change or delete anything.

  1. Does this work in ChatGPT too, or only Claude?

It works in both, plus any other MCP-compatible client such as Cursor. The same questions and answers apply across clients.

  1. Do I need my WhatsApp connected first?

Yes. A question like "who should I follow up with" relies on replied and unreplied status, which is computed from your connected WhatsApp number. If no number is connected yet, connect your WhatsApp first, otherwise you get an error about your phone.

  1. Can I ask about a teammate's chats?

No. As a sales rep (Member role) you can read your own chats, messages, and contacts. Reading a specific teammate's chats requires the Admin role. If you ask for someone else's data you get a permission error, regardless of how the question is phrased.

  1. How do I disconnect the AI later?

Go to your Cooby workspace, then Settings, then Connected AI agents. You can see the agents connected to your account and revoke any of them. Revoking cuts off that agent immediately, on its next request.
