What happened in my team’s WhatsApp this week?
Before Monday's team meeting, use Signal to review the last completed week and compare it with the week before. The goal is to understand what changed and arrive with specific conversations to discuss.
What to ask Signal
Start a new analysis and ask:
- “Give me a team WhatsApp overview for October 26 through November 1. Include message activity, active chats, reply times, and unanswered conversations.”
- “Compare it with October 19 through October 25, using the same owners and timezone.”
- “Break down the median response time by owner for those same periods.”
- “List the unanswered direct chats at the end of the current period.”
- “Summarize the main changes and the conversations we should review in our meeting.”
Replace the example dates. Explicit dates are useful for weekly meetings because a rolling “last 7 days” question can include part of the current day.
What Signal gives you
The chat summarizes the main changes. The Analysis canvas can show comparison tables for Message volume, Active chats, Response time, and Unanswered conversations.
Comparison tables label the Baseline and Current periods, the absolute change, percentage change, and sample counts. Read those labels before interpreting the direction of a change.
Coverage describes the synced messages retrieved. Open Details to check the periods, timezone, and owners. A comparison can also display coverage information for each period.
Matches or supporting links let you inspect the conversations behind relevant findings. An aggregate table does not always include a conversation list. Ask for the unanswered chats separately if you need a concrete meeting agenda.

Example from Signal. Numbers have been replaced with fictional data.
Read the week as a whole
More messages can mean more activity, but it does not establish that more deals closed. Active chats count conversations with at least one message in the period, not new leads.
A faster median response time can coexist with more unanswered conversations. The first metric covers completed replies; the second checks whether the customer's latest message was still awaiting a reply at the period end.
Change | Useful question for the meeting |
|---|---|
Inbound activity grows faster than outbound activity | Is the team keeping up with customer requests? |
Reply times improve but unanswered chats increase | Are completed replies faster while other conversations remain unattended? |
Activity drops for one member | Did their workload change, or is there a connection or data gap to investigate? |
A percentage is unavailable because the baseline is zero | What changed in absolute numbers? |
Look at counts and samples as well as percentages. A large percentage change from a small baseline may describe only a few conversations.
Prepare and share the analysis
Step 1: Verify the meeting period
Use two complete, comparable weeks with the same scope. Check the timezone, especially around daylight saving changes.
Step 2: Reconcile the explanation with the tables
If the chat summary and metric table disagree, ask Signal to verify the exact metric. Review the sources before presenting the conclusion. AI-generated summaries can contain mistakes even when Coverage is complete.
Step 3: Choose the discussion points
Identify the change, the conversations to review, and the decision needed. Check historical unanswered conversations in Conversations before treating them as today's outstanding work.
Step 4: Share with your workspace
Click Share and review the sharing dialog. Analyses start as private. Choosing Share with workspace allows workspace teammates to view the analysis, including its messages, saved excerpts, and future turns. Only the owner can continue the analysis.
Sharing is useful when everyone needs the same evidence for the meeting. Review what the analysis contains before enabling it. Continue in a separate private analysis if later questions should not be part of the shared discussion.

Limits and useful tips
Both periods must fall within Signal's 90-day conversation range. Include explicit dates and compare the same team and filters.
Counts describe synced WhatsApp activity, not a complete sales or customer health report. Historical unanswered metrics use the period end; owner and chat status information can reflect retrieval time. Check the current source conversation when assigning follow-ups.
