Common Permission Issues and How to Fix Them
When integrating Salesforce with Cooby, you might see messages such as “You are unable to access the Salesforce integration” or “Sorry! You do not have access to the Salesforce integration.”
These messages usually indicate that your Salesforce account is missing the required permissions to connect or sync data through Cooby.
I. You are unable to access the Salesforce integration
This message appears when Cooby doesn’t detect any Cooby permission set, and your Salesforce Profile doesn’t have the basic object-level permissions required to connect.
Common causes
- Your Salesforce profile (e.g., Standard User or API User) doesn’t have access to Leads, Contacts, or Opportunities.
- Integration user has restricted API access.
- The integration was tested or installed using a non-admin account.
How to fix it
- Ask your Salesforce Admin to review your Profile:
- Go to Setup → Profiles → [Your Profile] → Object Settings.
- Ensure the following objects have Read and Edit permissions:
- Lead
- Contact
- Opportunity
- User
- For integration users, make sure the profile also includes:
- “API Enabled”
- (Optional) “View All Data,” if allowed by your company policy.
- After updates, reconnect Salesforce in Cooby to refresh access.
II. Sorry! You do not have access to Salesforce integration
This message means your Salesforce account does not have the required Cooby Permission Set or the related field-level permissions that allow Cooby to read and write data.
Cooby performs this check first, so this error usually appears when your account is missing standard Cooby access.
Common causes
a. You haven’t been assigned a Cooby permission set:
Cooby_Member
Cooby_Admin
Cooby Required Fields
b. The assigned permission set is missing access to Cooby objects or fields, such as:
- Message__c
- Message_Attachment__c
- WhatsApp_chat__c
c. Field-level permissions (FLS) are missing for key Salesforce fields (e.g., Phone, Email, StageName, Amount).
How to fix it
- Ask your Salesforce Admin to check your assigned permission sets:
- Go to Setup → Users → Permission Set Assignments.
- Make sure your user has at least one of the following:
Cooby_Member
Cooby_Admin
Cooby Required Fields
- In the assigned permission set, open Object Settings and verify these objects have Create, Read, and Edit access:
- Lead
- Contact
- Message__c
- Message_Attachment__c
- WhatsApp_chat__c
- Check Field Permissions if the error mentions specific fields (for example,
Lead.Phone
orOpportunity.StageName
). - After your admin updates permissions, reconnect Salesforce in Cooby and try again.
