# Manage tabs

Keep your tabs organized the way you work. This guide covers how to sort chats into a tab, rename, reorder, hide, and change a tab's emoji.

# Sort chats into a tab
### Add chats in bulk
1. Click the three dots next to the tab you want to edit.

2. Select **Sort chats into tab**, or use the keyboard shortcut ⌘+Ctrl+L.

3. Select the chats you want to add. You can also search by name or phone number.

4. Click **Save**. The chats you selected now show in this tab.

### Add a chat from the conversation
1. Open the chat and click the folder icon in the upper right corner, or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+L.

2. Select the tab you want to add the chat to.

3. The tab's name appears next to the contact's name.

### Remove chats from a tab
Open **Sort chats into tab** again, unselect the chats you want to remove, then click **Save**.

# Rename a tab
You can rename any Custom Tab.
1. Click the three dots next to the tab and select **Rename**.

2. Type the new name and choose an icon.

3. Click **Save**. The new name shows in your tab bar.

# Reorder tabs
You can reorder your tabs in two ways.
* In **Tab Settings** in the upper right corner, drag the three-line icon next to a tab to a new position.

* In the tab bar, drag a tab to a new position.

# Hide or show a tab
1. Open **Tab Settings** in the upper right corner.

2. Click the eye icon next to a tab to hide it.

3. To show it again, click the crossed-out eye icon.

# Change a tab's emoji
1. Open **Tab Settings** and click the pencil icon next to the tab.

2. Click the icon and choose a new one.

3. Click **Save**.

### Show only emoji
In **Tab Settings**, turn on **Display only emojis when applicable**. Your contact list and conversations then show the tab's emoji instead of its name.
