# How to connect Cooby with WhatsApp Business API

Cooby now supports connecting your WhatsApp through the official WhatsApp Business API. This article shows you how to connect so your conversations start syncing into your [Cooby Workspace](https://app.cooby.co/).

### Start the connection
1. In Cooby onboarding page, click Connect my WhatsApp.

2. A Facebook window will open. Click Continue.

3. Select your **Business portfolio**, then click the **WhatsApp Business account** dropdown. If you already have a WhatsApp Business account you want to use, select it and continue with the second section below. Otherwise, choose **Connect a WhatsApp Business app** to create a new one and follow the first section.

### Connect an existing WhatsApp Business account
Use this path if you already use the WhatsApp Business app on your phone and want to connect that number.
1. After choosing **Connect a WhatsApp Business app**, select your country code and enter your WhatsApp Business number in the **Phone number** field. Wait for the green checkmark confirming the number is valid, then click **Next**.

2. Select your country code and enter your number in the **Phone number** field, then click **Next**. If this number has not been added to your business portfolio yet, you will be asked to verify it before you can continue.

3. Review the **Connect your existing WhatsApp Business App** details. You will keep full access to your WhatsApp Business app and can continue using it. Your phone number, contacts, chats, and chat history may be shared, and individual chats will be managed through a secure service from Meta. 4. On the **Import contacts and chat history** screen, use the **WhatsApp Business app** on your phone to scan the QR code shown on screen. To start, open the app and tap **Connect** in the message from the official Facebook Business Account. 5. On the **Review what you'll share with Cooby** screen, check the access Cooby is requesting, then click **Confirm**.

6. Wait a few moments while your account connects.

7. When you see **Your account is connected to Cooby**, click **Finish**.

8. Your WhatsApp Business account is now connected to Cooby and your conversations will begin syncing.
