Auto-Link Mechanism
Our automatic linking mechanism functions in three stages.
- First, upon your initial connection to HubSpot, we conduct an initial automatic linking.
- Additionally, a scheduled linking process occurs with each new message upload.
- At last one, another automatic linking takes place every night after fetching contacts.
It's important to note that this mechanism used by exact matching approach. We utilize the complete phone number, including the country code as well as area code, for matching purposes.
Search Linking Mechanism
Another linking mechanism operates through search. Each time you enter a conversation screen on WhatsApp Web, we use a search process to locate the corresponding HubSpot contact. If the search successfully identifies the relevant contact, our system automatically establishes a link.
In this mechanism, we do employ a fuzzy matching method. Prior to comparison, we remove the "+" symbol from the phone number and add the country code to ensure better matching accuracy.
Will it update/cover the HubSpot contact's phone number?
Whether through the automatic linking mechanism or the search linking mechanism, we do not modify the contact's phone number in HubSpot. Modification only occurs if you initiate manual changes.
